“So you want to run a Bed
& Breakfast?”...course.
Fed up with your job?
Looking for a career change? Or perhaps nearing retirement or
redundancy and “would LOVE to work for yourself!”
Let us help you achieve your
dream.
We have been running a very
successful and Award Winning Bed and Breakfast and holiday rental
business for the past 12 years. Many of our guests return time after
time, year after year (78% return business).
Over the years, visitors to
Coedllys Country House have told us we should start running courses on
“How to run a Bed and Breakfast”. So, 8 years ago we ran
our first course.
If you are looking to run a
B&B from your existing home or thinking of buying elsewhere, then
we can help you.
Running a B&B can be an
excellent business opportunity IF you know all the answers. There are
many pitfalls, competition is fierce and mistakes costly, in both money
and time, especially when you are at your most vulnerable.
More and more discerning
people are turning away from hotels to use quality bed and breakfast
accommodation.
We are able to offer an
excellent tried and tested course in luxury surroundings at affordable
prices.
I also act as an Inspector for a popular
B&B guest accommodation brochure and therefore, I am able to give
advice from an Inspectors perspective.
The course is residential.
You arrive on a Monday and depart on a Friday morning after
breakfast.
A few of the things covered
on the course are:-
|
• Do I
stay in my home, buy an existing B&B or buy a large house and start
from scratch?
• Which is the best way for me?
• Where best to buy?
Location?
• What you can expect from the
job?
• What can you bring to the
job?
• Days off????
• Job allocation – The
right person for the right job?
• Housekeeping & Purchasing -
the right products for your B&B.
• Interior design.
• What is the difference between
a changeover and daily service?
– Practical hands on
experience.
• Taking reservations and
avoiding double booking rooms.
• Dealing with difficult
guests.
• A warm welcome and a warm
goodbye.
• Where do I get Credit Card
facilities?
• What do I do about
environmental health requirements?
• Ho do I satisfy New Fire Safety
Regulations?
• How do I go about managing
laundry?
• Should I bother with evening
meals?
• Should I register for VAT?
• Is there any point in having a
drinks licence?
• Where best to advertise? Is it
necessary?

And much more.

We recommend that both/all
parties involved in the purchase and running of a B&B attend our
course. Many companies operate a retraining scheme for retiring or
soon to be redundant employees. We are happy to separate the billing
in such circumstances.
For example - One person
billed singly at £445.00 and the second person billed at
£200.00. (Based on two persons sharing a room). We are able to
accommodate maximum of six persons per course. We are happy to run
courses for two people.
If you are interested in
attending a course please contact Val on 01994 231455. She will be
delighted to discuss the course and your requirements with you.
Based in Carmarthenshire,
Coedllys Country House is very accessible. Just three miles from the
