the house

The house was once the main farm of the local area, covering hundreds of acres, which, over the years have been sold off to form other farms and homes.

Here at Coedllys Uchaf we have managed to trace the farmhouse back to 1810.

More recently the farmhouse was sold in the 1950's and, unfortunately, was left to decay and fall into disrepair. However, in the early 1990's the property was purchased and extensive renovations and improvements were made. These included an expansion of the property both upwards and outwards, overall increasing the house by over a third of its original dimensions.

The current owners, Keith and Valerie Harber purchased the property, complete with 12 acres of surrounding countryside and woodland in August, 1994.

We have spent many hours restoring the farmhouse into what we, and many of our guests, now feel is a lovely home, which we hope you will enjoy should you decide to visit us.

The gardens have also been a labour of love; we have spent many hours of careful planning and re-planning, followed by an equal amount of hours of tough backbreaking digging and planting in all weathers. However, all this has been most worthwhile as our gardens are now beginning to show signs that all our hard work and effort was not in vain. Many of our guests enjoy the experience of our gardens and derive much pleasure and enjoyment whiling away the hours during long hot lazy summer days.
